This Classroom Geography study of a Traditional style layout, was really interesting in comparing students personal Characteristics with Preferred deskmate and preferred placement in the class.

There were differences in outcome according to gender,Mother’s education etc that correlated with students participation etc with good recommendations to consider all students to not be disadvantaged by their classroom seating.

The Study seemed to be preliminary in developing better pedagogical practices.

I would like further research into whether student’s feelings of wellbeing within the classroom space were in fact enhanced by allowing  their preference versus being given a particular seating arrangement.

Furthermore could this be measured in student’s achieving better academic results with allowing their preference versus being given a particular seating plan?
