I have wondered why the size of mobile phones has got larger, when traditionally it seems that the manufacturers of technology want to show their innovativeness by making things smaller.
Mobile phones in Education, is therefore the mobile phone manufacturers new market. This is genius for them as it opens up a whole new group of people to sell their product to and genius for allowing access to education that was previously unaccessible for some people, due to the lower cost in comparison to a computer/laptop.
Here in Australia, with the increased BYOD policies in many schools this could also become an affordable option for some families.
It unfortunately enhances the divide between the socio-economics of a group of students that the school provided laptop smooths out and still awaits the demand for such M technology to have apps etc modified to fit across many different mobile device platforms.
